Lorrèn

Lorrèn is a Dutch singer-songwriter whose music brings together the warmth of soul, the sophistication of jazz, and the accessibility of contemporary pop. Known for her distinctive voice, combining a smooth, expressive quality with a subtle raw edge, Lorrèn creates songs that feel uplifting, personal, and full of musical character. Born into a musical family, with a father who is a jazz violinist and scat singer, she grew up surrounded by music and developed an early appreciation for soulful vocals and rich musical arrangements. Over the years, Lorrèn has established herself as a distinctive presence in the Dutch music scene, building a catalogue that reflects her love of classic soul influences alongside a fresh and contemporary pop sensibility.

Lorrèn's musical journey began at an early age. At just eleven years old, she participated in the Junior Songfestival, reaching the competition's top ten and discovering her ambition to pursue music professionally. After performing with the band The Jetts, she developed her experience as a vocalist and performer, eventually becoming part of the Amsterdam-based music collective Wicked Jazz Sounds. Performing regularly with the collective helped Lorrèn develop her stage presence and connect with audiences through her expressive voice and natural musicality. In 2015, she released her debut single, "The Game Of Love", which earned her recognition as an NPO Radio 2 Talent and received significant national radio attention. This early success helped establish Lorrèn as an emerging singer-songwriter with a distinctive blend of jazz, soul, and pop.

Her musical identity is shaped by a love of classic soul and jazz artists, while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary songwriting. Her songs often combine warm instrumentation, memorable melodies, subtle jazz arrangements, and soulful rhythms, creating music that feels both timeless and accessible. Her albums “Shades Of Blue” (2015) and “Land Of Possibilities” (2017) documented her early development as a songwriter, while the EPs “Pieces” (2021) and “In Time You'll See” (2022) showcased a more refined contemporary pop sound. In 2024, Lorrèn released “Sunkissed”, a soul-pop album built around themes of love, freedom, hope, and the positive energy of summer. Produced with Jasper Zuidervaart, known for his work with artists including Chef'Special and Jeangu Macrooy, the album brought together fourteen original songs and further demonstrated Lorrèn's growth as an artist.

Live performance has always been central to Lorrèn's musical identity. Her experience with Wicked Jazz Sounds gave her a strong foundation as a performer, and she has since developed her own shows and toured with her music across the Netherlands. Following her own headline tour, she performed as a support act for Chef'Special during their sold-out shows at Rotterdam Ahoy, Klokgebouw Eindhoven, and AFAS Live in Amsterdam. She has also appeared at established venues including Paradiso and performed at North Sea Jazz Club. With her warm vocal delivery, confident stage presence, and ability to move naturally between intimate ballads and groove-driven soul-pop, Lorrèn brings a lively and engaging energy to the stage. Her performances reflect the same qualities that define her recordings: musical warmth, expressive storytelling, and a genuine connection with her audience.

Her single "Make It A Better Place", released through Vokall Records in September 2026, brings together her characteristic soulful pop sound and a positive message about making the world better through small, everyday acts of kindness. Written and produced by Lorrèn herself, the track highlights her development not only as a vocalist and songwriter but also as an independent producer. With its warm, groovy arrangement and uplifting spirit, "Make It A Better Place" fits naturally within Vokall's appreciation for soulful, melodic, and feel-good music. The release also opens the door to her next album, “Life Is A Dream”, planned for 2027. For the first time, Lorrèn has produced the entire record herself in her own studio, exploring a stronger jazz influence while allowing more room for spontaneity and musical freedom.

Today, Lorrèn continues to evolve as a singer-songwriter, performer, and producer, bringing together years of live experience with an increasingly independent creative vision. From her early recognition on Junior Songfestival and NPO Radio 2 to the release of “Sunkissed” and her latest work with Vokall Records, her career reflects a consistent commitment to soulful songwriting and expressive musicianship. Her connection with Vokall highlights an artist whose warm voice, memorable melodies, and positive musical outlook align naturally with the label's contemporary soul and pop identity. With “Life Is A Dream” on the horizon, Lorrèn is entering an exciting new phase, continuing to explore the relationship between jazz, soul, and pop while staying true to the distinctive sound that has shaped her career.
