LYMA

LYMA is an Amsterdam-based producer, vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music brings together soul, R&B, hip-hop and electronic dance music. Moving between intimate songwriting and dancefloor-focused production, he has developed a distinctive sound built around warm textures, expressive vocals and deep, organic grooves. His ability to combine musicality with club energy makes LYMA a natural fit within the soulful electronic music community championed by Vokall Records.

LYMA’s musical identity is rooted in a hands-on approach to making music. He began writing songs as a teenager, learning to sing and play guitar before developing his own recording and production practice. Rather than sticking to one genre, he draws on the melodic warmth of soul and R&B, the rhythmic character of hip-hop and the movement of house music. His productions often bring live instrumentation and electronic elements together, while his vocals give the music a personal, human quality.

Over the years, LYMA has built an impressive network of collaborations across the international house and soul scenes. His work includes projects with artists such as Folamour, Dam Swindle, Marcel Vogel, Makèz and Ray Mang, alongside releases on respected labels including Heist Recordings, Boogie Angst and Lumberjacks in Hell. He has also performed at events including Trans Musicales and Amsterdam’s Super-Sonic Jazz Festival, demonstrating his ability to move between underground club culture and live music settings.

One of LYMA’s notable connections with Vokall Records is “Colors”, his collaboration with Pleij, released on 20 June 2025. The track captures the shared musical ground between the two artists, bringing soulful songwriting and an easy, groove-led feel into an accessible electronic production. It also reflects Vokall’s wider interest in music that crosses the boundaries between soul, funk and dance music.

LYMA’s profile continued to grow in 2026 with further high-profile collaborations. He joined Folamour on “Won’t Let U Down” and teamed up with Makèz for “Come Back Tomorrow”, released on Defected Records in June. The latter pairs LYMA’s bright, expressive vocals with Makèz’s groove-driven production, bringing his songwriting to a wider international house audience. These projects underline his growing presence as both a vocalist and a creative collaborator.

For Vokall, LYMA represents an artist whose work reflects the label’s appreciation for soulful, forward-thinking music. With “Colors” alongside Pleij, he has contributed to the Vokall catalogue while continuing to explore new creative partnerships and musical directions. Whether writing songs, building productions in the studio or performing behind the decks, LYMA brings a distinctive blend of musical depth and dancefloor instinct to everything he does.
