Säm Wilder

Säm Wilder is a Dutch singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music brings together soul, R&B, indie, and contemporary pop. Combining expressive vocals, melodic songwriting, and groove-driven production, Säm Wilder creates music that feels both timeless and distinctly modern. His sound draws on the warmth of classic soul while incorporating the rhythmic energy of hip-hop, the textures of indie pop, and the musical freedom of jazz. With an instinct for memorable hooks and emotionally honest storytelling, Säm Wilder has developed a distinctive artistic identity that connects intimate songwriting with rich, carefully crafted production. Having spent several formative years in Los Angeles before returning to the Netherlands, he brings an international perspective to the Dutch music scene.

Säm Wilder's musical journey took an unexpected turn when, at nineteen, a chance encounter with a recording studio in Los Angeles opened the door to a professional music career. He left his studies behind and immersed himself in the city's music scene, developing his skills as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer. Performing under the name Beekwilder at the time, he gained early international attention through his collaboration with American singer-songwriter Maty Noyes on "Lava Lamps", released in 2018. This marked an important introduction to a wider audience and helped establish his reputation as a versatile emerging artist. Beyond his own releases, Säm Wilder has worked as a songwriter and producer for artists including MIYAVI and Spencer Sutherland. After returning to the Netherlands, he continued developing his sound in Tilburg, studying at Rockacademie and building a musical community around his work.

As an artist, Säm Wilder is particularly interested in combining soulful musical influences with honest, personal songwriting. He incorporates elements of classic R&B, funk, jazz, indie, and pop. His early EP “Homebound”, released in 2020, reflected the emotional experience of building a life in Los Angeles while remaining connected to his roots in the Netherlands. In August 2025, he released his debut album “SUPERNOVA”, a deeply personal project exploring love, relationships, loss, self-discovery, and the possibility of starting again. Built around the metaphor of a star exploding and becoming part of something new, the album represents an important creative milestone. With its soulful arrangements, expressive vocals, and rich storytelling, “SUPERNOVA” captures a more mature and fully realised version of Säm Wilder's musical identity.

Säm Wilder's relationship with Vokall Records has resulted in several releases that highlight different sides of his musical personality. His single "LINGER", released through Vokall Records in October 2024, became an important milestone in his catalogue, reaching more than one million streams within six months. In October 2025, he joined forces with Dutch singer-songwriter Noa Lauryn for "You Might Like It", another Vokall Records release. The soulful ballad emerged from a Vokall writing camp at Warner Chappell Studios in Amsterdam, bringing together Säm Wilder's introspective songwriting with Noa Lauryn's expressive vocal style. In February 2026, he collaborated with Stirmouth and Soul Food Horns on "Just One Night On The Weekend", released through Vokall Records. These projects demonstrate Säm Wilder's versatility as both a solo artist and collaborator, while reflecting the label's commitment to contemporary soul, R&B, and groove-driven music.

Live performance has become an increasingly important part of Säm Wilder's development. Following his participation in Popronde, he began bringing his music to audiences across the Netherlands with an increasingly established live band. His performances combine soulful vocals, funky production, and emotionally engaging songwriting, moving between intimate moments and energetic, rhythm-driven arrangements. He has also opened for international artists including Raquel Rodriguez and Marc Broussard, gaining valuable experience performing for diverse audiences. In 2026, Säm Wilder took another significant step with his first solo tour, bringing “SUPERNOVA” to venues across the Netherlands. The album's personal themes and musical arrangements translate naturally to the stage, creating a live experience that combines the intimacy of his songwriting with the energy of a full band.

Today, Säm Wilder continues to develop his career as an independent artist, songwriter, and producer, combining his international experience with a distinctive musical identity rooted in soul, R&B, and contemporary pop. From his early collaboration with Maty Noyes to the release of “SUPERNOVA” and his ongoing work with Vokall Records, his journey reflects a commitment to musical exploration and honest creative expression. His collaborations with Noa Lauryn, Stirmouth, and Soul Food Horns further demonstrate his ability to connect with other musicians and bring different creative perspectives together. For Vokall, Säm Wilder represents an artist whose soulful voice, thoughtful songwriting, and production skills fit naturally within the label's musical landscape. As he continues to expand his catalogue and reach new audiences, Säm Wilder is establishing himself as a compelling voice in the contemporary Dutch soul and R&B scene.
