With her expressive personality and energetic approach to performing, Amazone is carving out her own place in the Dutch music scene.
Since making her musical debut in 2023 with the single “Butterfly”, Amazone has steadily built momentum. Her track “Grow Apart” reached 400,000 streams in just 30 days, while “Wasted Love” was selected as 3FM's Song of the Week. In 2024, she was named Kwaku Talent of the Year, an important recognition of her growing presence as an emerging artist. She has also performed as a guest act for Yung Dada and sold out her first solo show, demonstrating the connection she is building with audiences.
Amazone's musical identity is shaped by the different cultures and sounds that have influenced her life. Her music moves between R&B, Afro, house and Surinamese styles such as Kawina and Kaseko, bringing traditional rhythmic elements into a contemporary setting. Her warm, expressive voice gives her songs an intimate quality, while the production often creates an infectious energy designed for movement. Themes of identity, love, self-discovery and belonging run through her songwriting, making her music both personal and accessible.
Her Surinamese heritage is more than an influence: it is an essential part of the artistic identity she continues to develop. Having grown up between cultures, Amazone spent time searching for a sense of belonging before embracing the different parts of her background as one. Exploring her roots also led her to incorporate Kawina percussion into her music, helping shape the sound of her EP. Her performances reflect that same combination of influences, bringing together singing, dancing, rhythm and a strong sense of stage presence.
Amazone's connection with Vokall is highlighted by her five-track EP “Who Is She?”, released on July 18, 2025 through Vokall Records. The project includes “LIKE HONEY”, featuring GET LUCKY, alongside “SA NA SAN”, “Sweet Life” and “Grow Apart”. Bringing together different sides of her sound, the EP captures her blend of contemporary R&B, Afro-inspired rhythms and melodic pop. It also marks an important chapter in her development, connecting the early singles that introduced her to listeners with a more defined artistic identity.
With subsequent releases including “Defibrillator” and “Mi No Sabi”, Amazone continues to explore the relationship between her musical influences, personal experiences and cultural heritage. Her growing live profile, distinctive sound and commitment to celebrating her roots make her an exciting emerging artist. Through her releases with Vokall and her evolving work as a performer and songwriter, Amazone continues to build a musical world that is unmistakably her own.
